HOW TO INSTALL A CAR TRACKER

There are two types of Car Tracking Device: The hard wired Tracker and the plug and play Tracker. The hard wired Tracker is that which needs to be connected to the Wiring of the Vehicle while the plug and play type as the name implies, is that which just have to be plugged in a port in the Vehicle. Some Trackers can be plugged in the OBD Port, while some can be plugged in the Cigarette lighter. Those plugged in the OBD Port are generally referred to as OBD Device Trackers. Installation does not get much easier with the plug and play Trackers.

On ‘Do-It-Yourself, we will discuss the hard wired Devices only. The Plug and Play kind of Device is so easy, that even a Dummy can fix it. All that just need to be done is the configuration on the Application and that’s all. But when purchasing a camera, the Features of the Application should be highly considered, so as to get the best service for your hard earned money. Some Suppliers have Engineers that will help fit the Device when and where you want it but if the need arises
The Manufacturer’s Manual is very important, apart from learning the features of the Camera, one needs to read it to know the do’s and don’ts of the particular Device. Though Trackers have a general do’s and don’ts but some have a particular one you must adhere to.

HOW TO INSTALL A HARD-WIRED TRACKER

  1. Ensure the Ignition is off
  2. Connect the GPS red wire to the Car’s 12V power supply
  3. Connect the white Wire to the Car’s ignition Wire
  4. Connect the black Wire to the Car’s ground Wire
